The various nations of the Avatar world have many many different types and styles of weaponry. These weapons vary in in style and development; Each nation shows its own culture in these simple works of metal.
AIR NOMADS
Air nomads, due to the peaceful nation and culture of these people, do not have many weapons at all. The most common weapon used, and one of the only; is the air glider.
AIR GLIDER: The “Air Glider” In truth is a staff, in which may be opened into a glider. The glider is commonly used for flying and traveling along the world and even the air temples themselves; But it is also used to enhance bending in combat; Bringing forward a different combat style. Only the wisest can craft this legendary item; May only be used by Air Benders.
WIND SWORD: The “Wind Sword” is when a airbender, takes a empty sword hilt (Of any kind) and then bend the blade of the sword, by making air. In theory, this could be used with any element; but the only other element known to do so is fire .
WATER TRIBE
Water Tribe weapons, reflect upon the people that call it home. The tools and weapons used, are made mostly of what the people of the water tribe can; hunt, fish, or gather for. Most commonly the use of bones and teeth.
AXE: An average-sized with a blue-and-white blade with a medium-length white handle.
BATTLE CLUB: The “Battle Club” was made and is commonly used in the southern water tribe. The base of the club is carved from a polar bear femur and is designed with a blue-and-white colours. On the club is a heavy ball on the end and a notch for hooking opponent weapons. The club can only be found in the southern water tribe.
BOOMERANG: A small, L-shaped weapon made of metal. It is a thrown projectile that travels in a curved path, and then after; if thrown correctly; comes back to the thrower.
JAW BLADE: Primarily a hunting tool, made by sharpening the jawbone and teeth of a large arctic wolf. One side of the blade is rigid and is used as a saw, while the other side is sharp and used for hunting and skinning. Commonly used to shave heads, and is wrapped in a leather grip.
MACHETE: A long, cleaver-like cutting weapon, made commonly out of bone, teeth and metals; Most likely painted blue-and-white.
PIKE: A two-handed pole weapon or long thrusting spear, also commonly made out of bone and metals.
SPEAR: A weapon used by both water tribes by the warriors in battle and for hunting animals for food. The handle is made of wood and the spearhead of bone.
WATER TRIBE KNIFE: A long knife made from metal, with four molars on the bottom of the blade and a leather-wrapped hilt.
WHALE’S TOOTH SCIMITAR: A weapon made from the tooth of a whale dolphin, used by the tribes men of both tribes. The tooth is curved and sharpen to a deadly point.
EARTH KINGDOM
Earth Kingdom’s weapons, seem to have taken form and influence from the people around it. Commonly the weapons are heartily and hard, just like the element of earth itself.
BUTTERFLY SWORD: This short dao, or single edged blade, also known as a Wu Dip Dao or Hu Die Dao. The top of the hilt is turned up so that the fighter can flip the sword around their thumb.
DUAL DAO SWORDS: Two single-edged swords, primarily used for flashing and chopping (Much like Sabers) and is often referred to as a broadsword. The two swords often share a steathe.
HOOK SWORDS: Three weapons in one; A long pole with a hook at the end, a curved blade above the fist, and a spearhead beneath the handle.
KAMA: Traditional farming implements similar to a sickle and used for reaping crops and also employed as a weapon.Extremely common among common-folk in the Earth Kingdom.
KATANA: A common japanese single edged blade with a square hand guard. The blade also, has a hilt long enough for two hands, if so desired.
LARGE EARTH COINS: These people sized coins are used by the Earth Kingdom soldiers as weapons via earth bending. Often these coins are placed around Earth Kingdom cities, so they may be easily used.
LOCHABER AXE: A made of a pole, with an axehead mounted at its end. The axe itself is silmilar to tools used with crops, such as the scythe, Which is designed for reaping. The point on the back of the blade is used for catching, hooking, and dragging clothing, or skin.
METEOR HAMMER: A weapon that consists of two weights connected by a rope or chain. Due to its flexible construction, the meteor hammer could be easily concealed as a defensive or surprise weapon.
NAGINATA: A large pole, made commonly wood or metal; with a large Katana like blade on the end of the pole.
NUNCHAKU: A weapon that consists of two heavy wooden sticks, connected by either metal chain or rope. Often take quite a bit of skill to be unable to wield without one striking themselves.
Polearm: A large two handed edged weapon, usually in the form of a long metal or wooden pole; slightly taller than a person with an axe like head.
ROCK GLOVES: An earthblender uses rock. to shape a glove around their hands, making it a easy source of stone.
SHANZI: A shanzi, Or, Fan is a common metal fan, which can be used to swipe, stab, or throw. It requires a strict fighting style and training. It is most commonly used by the Kyoshi Warriors.
TWIN WAR HAMMER: Similar to a sledgehammer in construction and appearance, it is to improve the potency of earthbending.
FIRE NATION
Cold weapon and metal weapons, are most commonly used by the Fire Nation people.
BOW: A weapon that used tension generated by string and wooden or laminate staff to propel arrows, extremely common among the fire nation soldiers. The bow gives an advantage over the Earth Nation crossbow, given its quick reload speed.
CHAIN: A chain is a weapon, attached to a large heavy metal chain. It requires a large amount of strength and skill.
DADAO: Large, single edged broadswords used by some Fire Nation soilders.
GUAN DAO: The weapon is large and heavy, it is modeled after the Chinese Kwan/Guan Dao pole weapon.
JIAN SWORD: A type of striaght sword, in the hands of a master it can be far more versatile and dangerous then it appears. Being that it is made for students whom study this blade, they are most commonly made of fine metals and forging.
JII: A halberd-spear with a crescent moon-shaped blade on either one side or both.
KANABO: A long wooden club weapon, large and heavy, they have either metal studs or spikes running in rows along the length of the weapon, they have enough strength to easily smash bones.
POISON KNIVES: A dagger with a compartment for poison in the handle, most commonly used by assassins.
PU DAO: An anti-cavlary polearm, with a long curved sword like blade on the top of a red wooden pole.
SAN GU CHA: A dagger shaped like a Trident.
STILETTO: A long, yet thin dagger with a sharp point; Commonly used for throwing instead of combat.
