Bio/Backstory:
Monk Huang was once a young Airbender like any other could begin as, playing with lemurs, and toying with the wind. He was a fine pupil, and studied vigorously, all the while meditating, struggling for the spiritual medium that he now possesses today. His mentor, Monk Shun, had bestowed unto him a habit, one of pranking and loving fun, for his teaching habits were of much deviation from the orthodox studies and meditation. One of the other "high" moments of his life, you could say, was one that can simply not be described by words alone, for it must be experienced by the self.
"Now, choose wisely, for you will be bound to them for life." Nun Hua Po says this as the Airbender youths eagerly take the apples from the basket, and distributes them to their Sky Bison of choosing. Huang, one of them, gingerly approaches one of the scattered bison, and offers it an apple. The bison licks him with his big tongue, which knocks him off his feet. He laughs, and tosses the apple in the air, launching it with air. Seeing this, this newly befriended bison also propels itself into the air, and uses his tongue for the net which catches the precarious fruit, which, in turn, also attracts the attention of Huang's peers. They utter sounds of excitement and awe, such as ooh's, or aah's. Huang pets the bison, joining his peers afterwards. "I think I'll call you..Bufu. It looks like you're stuck with me, huh, buddy?" The newly named Bufu licks him once more, coaxing a laugh from his new master's throat. From then on, a bond began to form between the two, and they have been inseparable ever since.
Now, in his withering age, his time slows, but there is still much to do, still parts to play. The Avatar rises once more, and his life is like the climb of the steep mountain range, each precarious step escalating up to this moment. And now, he is ready.
Strengths:
He is very patient with his pupils, and tends to have a cool head. His mind, due to the free lifestyle that it has been exposed to, is more creative and free, and is more joyful than most elderly his age. As a result of the meditation and spiritual prowess he has gained from such practices, he is also very insightful and wise, and cordial in the distribution of this wisdom. His optimistic demeanor assists in encouraging others, as well as perking them up as a result.
Weaknesses:
Despite all his spiritual qualities, the things that keep him from truly detaching himself from worldly concerns are his pupils, and those he loves. Due to this, he can become too attached to them, thus resulting in him putting them above all else, and becoming hard-hearted should any of them be lost, not wanting to distress others.
What are your character's goals in life?:
Due to his being a monk and his spiritual lifestyle, he has detached himself from worldly goals, and seeks no goal in life; he merely wishes to mentor his pupils so that they may strive to great heights as young Airbenders.
What weapon would this character prefer/be skilled with? Why?:
Since he is a pacifist, he wields a staff, which he also uses as a glider, which is an important part of Air Nomad culture.
