A messager falcon is send to each leader of the four nations, one to the Firelord, Earth King, and both Chieftains of the Water Tribe.

Dear Whom It Concerns;

I offer you my warmest welcomes. I am Head Fire Sage Joyo. i write to you all, highly respected and honoured leaders of the four nations of our world; i write you today to spread the word, that the Avatar, Ryo, will start her training in the coming weeks, and to ask you to keep this information secret, until her 16th birthday in 2 weeks.

Fire Lord Liang receives the scroll as she sits in her bedroom, sitting at her desk in simple robe balancing the Fire Lord's Headpiece upon her finger. She swiftly shoots it up, catching it on the back of her hand. She moves to undo the scroll and begins to read the short message to herself eyebrows raised in wonder as she reads the message.

"Interesting" She says, looking over to her servant, who of course bought her the letter when it arrived, she peers over to her map of the Fire Nation and comments "So much has been happening i almost forgot the Avatar's circle was currently on Fire" She says calmly, as if thinking deeply on the topic. "She will be in for a bit of shock, coming from such roots, but i wish her luck, and i do wish to meet her."

Aariak receives the letter a few hours before he sets off on another hunting mission, it's not a vital one but there are times where he just needs to get out of the city. He reads it was a raised brow. "Well...I hope she's more prepared for this sort of thing then I was." He laughs and stores it with a small section of scrolls from other nations.

He grabs his spear on the way out, faded purple trim swaying in the cold light. His mind thinking of two things at once. He mutters softly to himself on the way to the prep area. "She's got no idea what she's in for..." He laughs. "Then again, neither do we, let's see how she handles things first...I'll need to find a trainer."

Unnuk, Chief of the Southern Water Tribe
Southern Water Tribe, South Pole

Unnuk sat in his home, reading the letter. Outside, children played and a few polar dogs were barking alongside them. A light snow fell, not near enough to drive people to their homes. At the walls, a successful hunting party was just returning, the first in weeks, and cheers and triumphant laughter could be heard. Though meager, it still brought food home.

He rubbed his hairy chin, thinking of how to react. The Avatar would need training. On the one hand, he could invite the Avatar to the South, which would be good for his people to see. On the other, the North had better waterbending instructors. Unnuk sighed, moving his hand to rubbing his temple. It was a tough decision. Either way, the Avatar would be taught, but it would be better for her in the north.

The Chief began to write a reply. He finished quickly and exited his home, walking towards the boats. Smiles greeted him from the children. Then, without warning, a few snowballs flew towards him. The first two missed, but the third hit the back of his head, causing him to stumble. He stood up straight, snow sliding off of his hair. With mock anger, he turned to face the giggling children. He lifted three more snowballs with his waterbending and sent them sailing towards the children, who shrieked in false fear.

Unnuk laughed. "You'll be good hunters one day, with traps like that. Just don't try to hunt a waterbender." He turned to continue on his way, then stopped. The Chief looked back over his shoulder, "Or the Chieftan."

As he continued his walking, smile on his face, the children ran to play elsewhere, snow stuck in their hair and clothes. He reached the boats, where a merchant ship was moored. "Makid!" he called to the captain. A shaggy head looked over the side, down at Unnuk. "Aye, Chief?"
"I've got a letter for you to take on your next voyage. I need it to stay quiet, and I need it to go to the Fire Nation."
Makid nodded. "Anyone important?"
"The Capitol."

Makid nodded in understanding, shutting his mouth. He reached down a hand to take the letter and tucked it into his jacket. "It'll stay safe here. An' I won't look at it." He gave Unnuk a charming grin and turned back to his crew. "Shape up, men! We set sail in an hour!"

Unnuk sighed, walking back to his home. He wondered if he'd done the right thing, then shook his head. Of course he had. He had done the best thing for his tribe.

A messenger hawk makes its way to the Fire Nation Capitol. No specific destination, but, with the important markings on it, it is hoped that it reaches the Firelord. Addressing it to the sages themselves would be too revealing of its contents, which read:

"I, Unnuk, Chief of the Southern Water Tribe, would be glad to receive the Avatar for her waterbending training. I believe it would be good for my people to host someone of such importance, and we need all the help we can get in these troubling times. I hope that you understand my reasoning and that the Avatar accepts my offer. We have teachers here that could help, and I would be glad to show her Water Tribe culture to aid in her understanding of the world."
A scrawled signature marks the bottom, showing the letter as truly from the Chieftain of the Southern Water Tribe.

Fire Lord Liang sits quietly in the Fire Palace pond, watching quietly as the light drops of rain splash upon the waters. She sits under a large cherry tree being sheltered by the light drops of rain "Fire Lord Liang!" calls a solider as he runs into view stopping to bow low to her and then speaking "Black Ribbon letter your grace." Her eyes dart swiftly to the solider, face with a hint of worry, yet steady and proud. She reaches a hand out and motions for the letter, the solider hands it quickly to her, going to bow and then wait for her to read it. Liang reads it swiftly and then chuckles.

"Important markings indeed, but not a black ribbon letter.." She chuckles "Please fetch my Quill and ink, i'll reply quickly it seems important." The solider rushes back a few moments later, with a small piece of writing board, ink and the quill, she rushes and starts to reply to the letter.

Dear Chieftain Unnuk;

I have received your letter personally and i come to see why you put such importance on your tribe teaching the Avatar. In reply i must say the following; I will indeed put my word in to the sages and suggest the Southern tribe for this after she masters Air bending, this is a most important task. I must add this, please also speak to the Northern Chieftain on this topic aswell.

She reads over her letter, and then motions for the solider again "Please send this message to the Admiral, and make she it is received personally by Chieftain Unnuk." She passes the scroll to the solider, who then bows and leaves her to her thoughts.

Monk Huang sits in quiet contemplation and meditation on a mountaintop, when the silent energy is suddenly dispersed by a messenger eagle. Opening the scroll, he only smiles at this newest development. "Hrm..I shall consult the Council on this matter. Come, Bufu, you need not dawdle on the haybales!" He nudges his Sky Bison with a blast of air, and a grumpy growl resounds. Huang only laughs at this. "Oh, it's so amusing to see such 'energy' within you at these times of day, my Bufu. Shall we be off?" He saddles, and at once, they are off, heading back to the Southern Air Temple.

At the Southern Air Temple, he consults with the Council of Eight. Monk Xun is the first to speak, saying, "The Avatar cannot come here, can she? She must receive the proper training elsewhere, for we are mentoring pupils at the moment!" Monk Yi adds, "I concur, she must be focused upon the most, for she has the utmost role in preserving the world's peace!" Huang sighs. "I must say I expected some resistance, but shall we come up with a solution where she may train here? Monk Zan, surely you may be able to take my current students under your tutelage, no?" He adds, mumbling, "Though I suppose that 'cake' plot I had hatched may have to wait.." Monk Zan raises an eyebrow, saying, "I do believe that I can, although you do not mean to tutor the Avatar herself, do you?" Huang replies, eating a fruit cake. "Oh, no, you all shall assist."

Monks Hui, Hong, Cheng, and Da, as well as Yi, Xun, and Zan seem to take interest in this pursuit, looking surprised. "If you all shall know who the culprit of the fruit cake disaster is.." He gestures towards himself, grinning. They all gasp. "I shall make a proposition; I won't douse you with such creamy pastries should we all agree to take the Avatar under our wing." Zan chuckles, Da, Hong, and Hui sigh, and Xun, Yi , as well as Cheng grin. "It seems that we have come to a decision?" Xun nods, as well as the rest of them. Zan says, "I suppose that we have...but we shall return the favor one day, Huang, I promise it." The whole room is laughing at this point. "Then I shall begin writing to the other four nations at once! Oh, I had brought this." He lays a fruit cake on a plate down, and walks out. The monks, looking at the cake, see an elegantly written 'sorry' upon the cake, and smile.

As Monk Huang writes, he sends out a different copy, one to each nation leader. The signature that ends each one is in an elegant font, thus dubbing it official.

Dear Nation Leader,
As expected, I, Monk Huang of the Southern Air Temple, have chosen to take the Avatar under my tutelage in the style of Airbending. I do believe my pupils will enjoy seeing such a marvelous person of such wonder. I shall move to her location, or remain here at the temple, awaiting her, in accordance with your wishes. I eagerly await the trials that shall come to pass, and the opportunity to encounter each one of you.

My warmest wishes, regards, discrepancies, and comforts,

And with that, he sticks the five letters in the messenger hawk's bag, and sets him off. He pets Bufu, who licks him in affection, and then returns to his quiet meditation, once again maintaining the silent energy that had been broken.
